On May 30, Jin10 reported that Costco (COST.O) CEO Vachris said on Thursday that the company is taking steps to mitigate the impact of tariffs by pre-purchasing and shifting its private label product sourcing to selling regions. These measures have helped drop costs while also allowing it to avoid significantly raising prices for consumers. Vachris stated, "We are following the prices of every key item every day, even every hour. Prices for products like eggs, butter, and olive oil have recently decreased." In terms of non-food items, Costco also pre-purchased summer products such as patio furniture and sports equipment ahead of the tariffs. Vachris said, "This allows us to keep prices steady or only slightly increase them when necessary."
