Chromia launches a $20 million AI fund, aiming for data applications with the Mainnet upgrade.
Chromia Launches $20 Million Fund and Mainnet Upgrade Plan
The blockchain Chromia announced the establishment of a $20 million data and artificial intelligence ecosystem fund and plans to launch a mainnet upgrade codenamed "Asgard". These two initiatives aim to promote ecosystem development and expand platform functionalities.
The newly established fund will focus on supporting data-intensive projects and artificial intelligence applications. The Business Development Director of Chromia stated that the fund will provide developers with an ideal environment to build solutions that can process, analyze, and respond to complex datasets in real time. Chromia co-founder Henrik Hjelte pointed out that by supporting artificial intelligence and data center solutions, Chromia will seek broader collaboration while expanding its ecosystem in new directions.
The "Asgard" Mainnet upgrade is expected to be launched in the fourth quarter of 2024. This upgrade will introduce the "extension" feature, allowing the integration of custom blockchains with new functionalities into the platform. These extensions will be available for use by Chromia native applications and external clients, thereby expanding the platform's capabilities. The planned extension features include oracle solutions, AI model computations, data availability, and zero-knowledge proof support, among others.
Earlier this year, Chromia officially launched its Mainnet, utilizing an on-chain relational database architecture. This architecture not only effectively manages large amounts of interconnected data but also improves on-chain query efficiency. With this technology, Chromia can serve as an independent decentralized application platform and provide relational data layer support for other blockchain projects. In addition to supporting gaming projects, Chromia also plans to enter the data market, delving deep into gaming and other industries.
Currently, the Chromia data and artificial intelligence ecosystem fund has started accepting applications. The "Asgard" Mainnet upgrade is expected to go live by the end of the year, with the "scaling" feature being developed as planned, and a full launch expected in 2025. These initiatives will bring new development opportunities and technological breakthroughs to the Chromia ecosystem.
