Both India and Pakistan claim "victory"; Pakistan sets a day of commemoration, while India enters a 10-day celebration period starting today.
On May 13, Pakistan and India announced a ceasefire on the 10th, and political and military leaders on both sides have portrayed the recent conflict as a victory. Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif announced on Monday that May 10 will be celebrated as "War of Truth Day" to celebrate the success of the strike against India, while Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has declared a decisive victory in a public speech, emphasizing that India is not afraid of "nuclear deterrence" and has earned respect in doing so. According to Indian media NDTV, in order to commemorate the "historic victory", India will enter a 10-day celebration period from the 13th, and Modi has toured the Indian army to express condolences and give speeches. The event is expected to run until May 23.
