According to Deep Tide TechFlow news, on May 13, Mark T. Uyeda, a commissioner of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission ( SEC ), spoke at a tokenization roundtable in Washington, D.C. on May 12, calling for the establishment of a transparent and predictable regulatory environment for the tokenization of real assets. Uyeda emphasized that blockchain technology has the potential to significantly change the way financial markets operate, including increasing asset liquidity, reducing intermediary delays, and dropping transaction costs. He stated that the SEC should actively develop policies that adapt to new technologies, rather than evading regulatory responsibilities due to the inapplicability of existing frameworks.
